Dermatology is a medical specialty that focuses on the skin. A dermatologist is a medical doctor who evaluates and treats disorders of the skin, hair, and nails. The skin is the largest and most visible organ on the body, acting as a barrier against injury and infection. Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in humans, and fortunately most skin cancers can be cured with early diagnosis and treatment. Skin disorders are common in people of all ages, ranging from newborns to the elderly.
- History of Goldin Skin Dermatology
After training in dermatology and later teaching the resident physicians (training doctors) at Cook County Hospital (Stroger Hospital) in Chicago, Dr. Goldin joined a private practice in 1987 on the North Side of Chicago. In 1990 he started his own private practice at Rush North Shore Medical Center, and in 2006 moved the office to its current location. Dr. Adams joined Goldin Skin Dermatology in 2009, after completeing her dermatology training at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
